Ice Age has a good handle on being whimsical and strange but allowing it to find a solid foothold in this reality. Odd, but I absolutely couldn’t say I hate it. The world is well designed and easy to follow, the world is nicely themed with this odd but interesting alien technology that appears to be scattered about at every turn. Visualsįor a game about an old rat, it’s a pretty good-looking old rat. Some sections have you falling and you need to avoid hazards on the way down, it’s fun and interesting and the game really comes alive there.

Gameplay switches up for a few sections and moves to something with a different pace. Its akin to the old Ratchet and Clank, Spyro or Crash Bandicoot games. For the more discerning player, this may not be the challenge you are looking for. In Ice Age: Scrats Nutty Adventure get ready to jump into the fluffy insanity with this absolute lunatic of a sabertoothed rat and embark on some prehistoric. For a novice gamer or perhaps a younger audience, this is perfect. You do have the ability to throw items at the enemy but the majority of combat is tapping a single button. The second part of gameplay to be introduced is the fighting mechanic, I’ll go ahead here and admit that this is pretty rudimental as far as they go. I was surprised by how well this was done and how well it was themed.

Moving sections of land make, icy floors and floating jump pads all exist for you to be able to get from a to b in the most interesting way possible. Introducing a simple 3d platform element in first, the game has a nice amount of flavour for making the platforms unique.
